A new build five bedroom traditional style French chalet situated in the Alpine village of St Jean D'Aulps, 6km from the resort of Morzine in the Rhones-Alps region of France. This summer holiday rental chalet is just over an hours drive from Geneva airport in the heart of the Portes du Soleil which offers 350km of marked paths for mountain biking, walking and hiking. Just a 10 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants in the village but benefits from the fantastic views and tranquil setting the alps are famous for. This rental accommodation has an outside Hot Tub and all mod cons, and is ideally situated for summer activity holidays such as mountain biking, walking, hiking, swimming, watersports, fishing, golfing, and horse-riding.

Chalet Etoile is a traditional style new build Alpine chalet surrounded by beautiful mountains and magnificent scenery.

The chalet was completed December 2006, and as such along with all furnishings and hot tub is brand new throughout.

It is located in a very peaceful setting just above the village of St Jean D'Aulps on the edge of the small town of Morzine. There is just a short walk into the village with its small shops, bars and restaurants, however it is elevated sufficiently to benefit from fabulous valley views.
ACCOMMODATION
There is an outside hot tub, brand new high specification 'Beachcomber 350', designed for 8-9 people.

The chalet is offered on a self catering basis for up to 10-12 people

The region is one of outstanding natural beauty, and the quiet location is ideal for families with children, or for adults seeking peace and tranquility.

Walking/Trekking
Come to St Jean d'Aulps and discover 200 km of hikes in the Valley, with sublime views. Every level of difficulty for children or adult : short hikes or 3 days trekking.

Mountain Biking
Practice the mountain biking on many paths adapted to your level in Saint Jean d'Aulps, in Vallee d'Aulps and in Les Portes du Soleil area. Ski lifts run through the summer and are adapted for mountain bikes.

Climbing
Cliffs in Valle d'Aulps will enchant the rock-climbers, as much for the beauty of the places as for the quality of the climbs.

Horse-Riding/Pony Trekking
Discover the atmosphere of the mountains as a family.

Lake & River Fishing
Fishing license obligatory, in lake or river (day, week, month or year license). To buy this license : St Jean d'Aulps "Maison de la Presse", center of the village. Many fishing places in St Jean d'Aulps or in villages around : "Dranse de Morzine", Barring of "Le Jotty", mountain lakes (Montriond, Tavaneuse, Mines d'Or, Chésery)

White Water Rafting
An inflatable dingy with a team of between 4 and 8 people led by a qualified guide. Discovery trips for children or more adventurous descents. Open to anyone who can swim.

Kayaking/Canoeing
Kayak raft, two-seater boat, technically sophisticated and easy to navigate on the river Dranse. A remarkable compromise in that it's both easy to handle and stable.

Swimming
Morzine has a superb 50m outdoor pool a children's pool, these are heated to 26 degrees and pool-side refreshments are available. This is a stunning location to soak up the sun whilst looking up at the surrounding mountains. There is also a water slide and plunge pool. Around the pool area there are extensive gardens and picnic areas.

Beaches/Lake Geneva Water Sports
What could be more pleasant in summer than cooling off in water with a temperature of between 20-24°C. In the Savoie Haute-Savoie, four lakes are specifically geared to the joys of swimming, with facilities and activities that include natural beaches, games, swimming lessons, toboggans, dinghy, motorboat and pedalo hire etc.
With lakes that vary in appearance and atmosphere such as Lake Geneva, Le Bourget and Lac d'Annecy (the cleanest lake in Europe), visitors to the Savoie Haute-Savoie are spoilt for choice when it comes to water sports, with an average water temperature of 23°C, and activities that include yachting, windsurfing, dinghy-sailing, motorboat charter, water-skiing and wake-boarding. Alternatively, why not try your hand at diving or rowing in the beautiful setting of the Lac d'Aiguebelette, or head for our mountain streams to indulge in the adrenaline-inducing pursuits of rafting, hot-dogging, canoeing and kayaking, hydrospeeding and white-water swimming!

Paragliding
Discover the pleasure of free flying, solo or accompanied. Bi place flight : with an instructor, you can fly over the valley. A formula where you learn how to take off, plus an accompanied bi-place flight in order to enjoy the sensations of flying. Beginners course : a week to learn and practice first solo flights. Intermediate course : a week to learn about aeronautics and head towards being autonomous

Canyoning
Canyoning down the river with ropes and harnesses, slide down the natural toboggan runs sculpted by the river, jump into deep pools, ab-sail down waterfalls. Strong emotions and unforgettable memories.

Golf & Mini Golf
The Haute Savoie is a great place to play golf. There is a superb 18 hole course in Les Gets, a 9 hole course in Avoriaz and great courses within an hours drive at Chamonix, Annecy Flaine & Evian.

Hot Air Ballooning
Flights over the Alps lasting between 45 minutes and 1,5 hours. Fixed-rope balloon rides. Trips are from 245 €"

Flights to Geneva from most UK airports, then short drive of a little over an hour.
Can drive from Calais, about 10 hours.
