Discover our very special 2 bedroomed stone cottage that combines
French elegance with country charm, modern home comforts within a French rural
setting. Wander at your leisure around our quiet farming hamlet in the unspoilt
countryside of the stunning Gatine Hills in Poitou Charentes region of South
West France. Hear the call of the buzzard's whilst walking along quiet country
lanes, spot the herons taking flight from nearby ponds and enjoy true peace and
tranquillity in our secluded, scented gardens. Marvel at the range of colours in
the autumnal leaves, warm yourself by the log burner after a crisp winter walk,
be inspired by the abundance of all the yellow spring flowers in the hedgerows
or bask in the heat of the long lazy summer days, our cottages offer somewhere
special to stay in all seasons.

Chez Tranquillité is a light and spacious two bedroomed, luxury stone cottage with charming original features in harmony with quality modern home comforts, perfect for family holidays.
Living Room - Spacious architect designed, open plan living space with a lounge, kitchen and dining area.TV & DVD & hifi. Snuggle up on the sofas for a cosy evening by the log burner set in the traditional pink granite fireplace. Linger at the window seat and gaze into the fields opposite where the charalaise cows nurse their calves under the trees.
Kitchen - The stylish new fully fitted kitchen is generously equipped with all the utensils,electric fan assisted oven, gas hob, hood, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker. Light floods the cottage from the double French doors which lead to your rear garden and patio area for “alfresco” dining
Master Bedroom - The country fresh air entices you to silently slumber in the king size bed in the large master bedroom. Steal a precious peaceful moment on the wooden love seat which is warmly positioned in front of the chimney breast.
Second Bedroom - The large second bedroom is also light and spacious with two single pine beds.
Shower Room - The shower room has a fully tiled shower with massage jets, a wash hand basin and toilet.
Front Garden - Bask in the morning sunlight on the wooden bench in the charming little front garden as the bees and “ humming bird” moths visit the lavender.
Back Garden - Capture idyllic lazy days and amazing starlit nights in the delightful back garden. Tastefully landscaped rockeries and a lawn dotted with fruit trees are all safely enclosed. Chill out with a glass of wine on the patio whilst preparing your favourite French cuisine on the barbeque and listening to nature’s abundance of birdsong, your own personal taste of paradise!

Chez tranquility is located in a rural village in the beautiful Deux Sevres region of Poitou-Charentes.
Set in a charming, rural, farming hamlet ideal for a relaxing holiday yet only five minutes drive from the pretty village of L'Absie which offers local shop, bars and restaurants. An internet cafe is also in L'Absie - 5 minutes away. Towns of La Chataignerie and Moncoutant are approx 10 minutes drive
St Malo is 3.5 hours, from Caen or Cherbourg is 4.5 hours and Calais or Boulogne is 7 to 8 hours.

Pescalis Fishing Complex - It's just ten minutes drive to Pescalis fishing complex, one of Europe's largest inland fishing lakes with a range of fishing attractions for all ages. Beautiful lakeside walks and a lakeside restaurant, children’s play areas and boating lake, pony rides, local farmers market and other seasonal attractions. Bike hire available at reasonable rates for daily or weekly hire.

Drive just five minutes to ULM's airfield where you can experience a thrilling microlight flight over the stunning Gatine scenery. You can even have a go at piloting the microlight after an initial lesson or just let the pilot do the work whilst you sit back and enjoy the ride.
Forest of Adventure - Five minute drive for family fun swinging safely through the trees, open in the summer season with a childrens play area, small café and new 18 hole crazy golf course.
Go Karting - Five minutes drive to an exciting open air go karting track open all year with café.
La Roche Brantlant - Ten minutes drive to a natural wonder, wild parkland with huge granite boulders spanning the river, interesting country walks and children’s play area.
Horse Riding - Experience the joy of riding wonderful horses in the French countryside with Sarah who runs an English speaking and friendly horse hire stable just fifteen minutes drive from our cottages. She has horses suitable for all stages of riders including children and for the more experienced you can enjoy a fabulous hack through the sunflower fields.
Open Air Swimming Pool - Fifteen minutes drive to Secondigny lakes with walks, restaurant with lakeside views, children’s play area and a large clean open air swimming pool open in the summer months.
Vouvant & Mervant Forest - Twenty minutes drive takes you to the rugged forest of Mervent with tree lined slopes and meandering rivers, a walkers paradise. There is a lovely children's zoo and Parc de Pierre Brune for family fun in the summer months. Vouvant is a magical old picturesque village with a fairy story and ruins to explore,refresh yourself in the tea-rooms, cafes and art galleries.
