is an outstanding property in a great location.
The house comprises a fully equipped large kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and micro-wave. Separate utility area with washing machine. An elegant dining room with antique furniture and French windows to the front. The guest lounge is very comfortable and has settees and chairs, wide-screen TV with Sky and DVD, a collection of books, DVD's and games ,and wood burning fire. WIFI available.
All bedrooms are luxuriously appointed and each has a large wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables. Hairdryers, towels and dressing gowns are provided. Quality bed linen for all the beds is provided. Each bedroom has a private, modern bathroom.

In front of the house is a very large attractive patio area with table & chairs, perfect for breakfast in the sun!
The swimming pool is 4m X 8m and is solar heated and for the exclusive use of guests. Sun loungers and chairs surround the pool.
Just across from the pool is a summer kitchen with large dining table and chairs, and also has comfortable chairs and settee under a roll-out canopy. Barbeque provided
Behind the summer kitchen is the games room equipped with table tennis, darts, table football and a multi-gym. Behind the swimming pool is a large lawn suitable for outdoor games or simply let the kids run around. Boules, croquet and badminton games are provided. There is also another patio area, covered, with comfortable chairs and table.
All the outside areas are maintained to a high standard and has been provided to make your stay with us a memorable experience
There are also 4 adult bikes for guests use.
The gravel drive is large enough to park 3 cars.
Pets are allowed at this property.

The unspoilt countryside with its' richness of wildlife, the forest of Mervent-Vouvant, the charming villages and historic abbeys, the wonderful coastline and beautiful islands of the Atlantic, and the many excellent restaurants all around the region .
So whether you prefer to relax and visit the sights, or you prefer a more active holiday such as walking, cycling, fishing, golf and water sports, the Fleur de Charzais is at the heart of your stay.
Fleur de Charzais is only 3 minutes drive from Fontenay Le Comte which is a very pleasant market town and has a choice of 5 supermarkets, banks, restaurants and cafe bars as well as some good clothing shops. A market is held every Saturday.
Just 45 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Atlantic coast with the resorts of La Rochelle, Ile de Re, Les Sables d'Olonnes, Le Tranche sur Mer all well worth a visit.
Onlu 10 minutes drive are the canals and waterways of the Marais Poitevin where you can find the idillic villages of Coulon and Arcais, or the wonderful, spectacular Mervent Forest National Park where you can walk or cycle along the footpaths and bridleways and try to spot abundant wildlife that populates the area.
Fishing and golf are also catered for within easy distance. There are several golf courses in the area. The nearest at Niort just 30 minutes drive is a fairly flat course and shares the course with the horse racing course. La Petit Chene is also just 30 minutes drive and is a parkland course, quite hilly and with lakes. La Rochelle is a links course and just 40 minutes drive.

We were 3 families together with 5 children aged between 12 and 2. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday.
The pool was a hit with all of us and great for cooling off as we had such beautiful weather. There are loads of places to visit in the area. We would recommend Puy Du Fou as a brilliant day out with or without children. Hugh and Gill are great hosts, always on hand to help and advise if needed. We would definitely go back. Nettie, Devon
"We - a family composed of seven adults, and pet dog Charlie - had a wonderful time at La Fleur de Charzais, mid May 2011. We loved the house right from the start, both the beautiful and very well equiped interior as the outside, the terrace where we often had our meals (temteratures ranging from 22 to 29 C), the marvelous swimmingpool, the shade under the huge 'Judas tree' when it got to hot, the fitness room where we often played table tennis, and so on. Apart from a few excursions, worth while (La Rochelle, Niort), and a walk in the fields every evening, we spent most of the time 'at home' ,relaxing. We would recommend a stay at Fleur de Charzais to any family/group wanting to enjoy the good life in France, away from modern hectic city life!
We are a family of 7 with ages that vary from 5 years up to 75 years and we stayed in this beautiful house for a week from 10th July 2010. Every member of the family loved the house and its location on the outskirts of Fontenay Le Comte with its lovely bars and restaurants. The house itself was immaculate and very well cared for by Gill & Hugh who were on hand to offer help advice if needed. The house was fully equipped with everything you could possibly think of. The 4 bedrooms and bathrooms were a bonus and the pool and outdoor areas were absolutely fantastic with lots of games etc to keep everyone entertained. The children loved playing in the garden and of course the pool. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a perfect location. Magneta, Hampsire

The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you could think of. We spent the majority of our time at the pool and outdoor kitchen area and enjoyed long lazy bbq's most nights. We all took advantage of the games room and all it had to offer. I would happily recommend this house to all my friends and family. Hugh and Gill were great hosts, very discreet but on hand to offer advice on the local area when needed.
