Croix Liaud is a beautiful 16th century farmhouse, surrounded by the Cezais
countryside in the South Vendee
Bought by its current owner in 2007, it has been lovingly restored to offer versatile accommodation.
Its traditional features include woodburners, original French Vendeen fireplaces and exposed beams, and these are all complimented by all the home comforts expected of modern living.
The grounds of La Croix Liaud encourage outdoor living. There is a swimming pool, and an area for games, swing/slide, table tennis, all set within mature gardens where you can relax in the sun, or have bbq's "en famille".

Croix Liaud consists of 2 seperate gites. Each gite has its own entrance
and seperate garden area. They can be rented individually, and
interconnected to open up the property for larger parties.
Gite "La Pressoise" sleeps up to 7 people, named after the original grape press which can be found at the entrance to the building.
Spacious kitchen-diner which includes oven/hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine etc
Seperate living area with comfortable seating, TV etc.
Downstairs shower room with WC.
Upstairs you will find 3 well proportioned bedrooms, including a double bedroom, a double bedroom with a single bed and twin beds on a mezzanine level. Also upstairs WC.
Gite "Le Puit a Souhaits" sleeps up to 5, named after the Wishing Well at the front of the property.
It offers an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge. Kitchen area includes oven/hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine.
Upstairs you will find a double bedroom with ensuite WC and washbasin. The second bedroom consists of Double bed and single bed. Main Bathroom.

Lovely swimming pool which is an above ground pool with decking around it. 11 metres x 6 metres and 1.2metres (4 foot) deep.
Outside WC (plus baby changing area) close to the pool/garden area.
Several patio areas to get the morning sun, find a little shade, sit in peace and quiet or just sit and enjoy a glass of wine.
Dining table and chairs for al fresco dining. BBQ area and summer house.
Table tennis ouside, area to have a game of Boules.
Garden area, totally secured with climbing frame, swing, slide etc.

La Croix Liaud is located in a quiet rural location on the outskirts of Cezais, yet only 5 minutes from the village of Vouvant (one of the prettiest villages in France) where you will find, boulangerie, cafe/bar, restaurant etc.
They have a "bread lady" visit the property twice a week to deliver a choice of breads to the door.
10 minutes from Mervent which is fantastic for walks, cycling, fishing, lovely picnic areas, it even has a zoo and Pierre Brun play/activity park.
The nearest town of La Chataignerie is approx 10 minutes drive and the Rennaissance town of Fonteney le Comte with lots of lovely cafes,restaurants, shops, hypermarkets etc approx 20 minutes drive.
Trout fishing lake just 5 minutes away - you will need a permit, which is not difficult to get.
Beaches are approx 1 hours drive
La Rochelle is 60 km
Poitiers - 1 hour
Travel from ferry ports - St Malo - 3.5 hours, Caen - 4.5 hours, Calais - 6 hours drive.
