La Fromandiere is a beautifully renovated farmhouse only 35 minutes from the nearest beaches and La Rochelle. The property has its own private swimming pool in grounds of 2 acres and a free tennis court only a few hundred yards away. During the summer months, you can wander through the village to the melon 'producteur' and buy lovely sweet charentais melons and a wide selection of wonderful fresh, seasonable vegetables. Only 3 kms from the nearest boulangerie and supermarket and 10 minutes from Fontenay le Comte.

Bedrooms:
There are 4 very large double bedrooms on the first floor and a further bedroom on the top floor. Bedroom 1 has a double four poster bed and views over the swimming pool and main lawn. Bedrooms 2,3 & 4 all have large queen size beds and views over the garden. (bedroom 5 on Attic floor with Double bed)
Bathrooms:
There is a family bathroom with bath and shower attachment and two further fully tiled spacious shower rooms and downstairs cloakroom with easy access from the garden.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully fitted and extremely well equipped including gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There is a large farmhouse table with chairs and benches and a breakfast bar. There is also a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and Belfast sink in the arriere cuisine (utility room).
Living Rooms:
The sitting room has 3 large sofas and a large television with satellite TV. The spacious dining room seats comfortably up to 10 people. Adjoining the sitting room is a large study where you can access the internet via Wifi.
Attic:
On the second floor, there is a small TV and games area with sofa, large TV, playstation 2 and numerous board games. Adjoining this is a further bedroom with double bed.
Outside:
The grounds are private and laid mainly to lawn offering plenty of opportunity for outside games or places to sit and enjoy the beautiful Vendee climate. There is a separate vegetable garden and a fruit orchard behind the swimming pool which is fenced and hedged off from the main garden. A large Weber gas bbq with separate hob is also available for use. There is a large barn in the grounds which forms part of the property and plenty of room for parking.

All linen, towels and a weekly cleaner are included in the price.

A 25% deposit will be required to confirm your booking and full payment is due 12 weeks before arrival, along with a £500 security deposit. The security deposit is fully refundable if no damage to property and left in a clean and tidy condition.
You will need to bring beach towels.

Location Petosse is a 10 minute drive away from the lovely and historic town
of Fontenay le Comte, where all the normal supermarkets and shops can be found,
along with its fantastic, mouth-watering Saturday morning market and surrounding
café’s and restaurants, where it is quite easy to while away several
hours!
Other local markets are held in St. Hermine on a Friday morning, and a small market on Wednesday mornings in the village of L’hermenault, which is only 4km away and has a excellent bread shop, butchers, post office, bank and small supermarket.
The town of Lucon is close by (20 mins). This also has an excellent Saturday morning market and is well worth a visit. From here it is only a 10-15 minute drive to the nearest coast and wonderful sandy beaches. If you fancy some energetic water sports, this is the place to try them! We would recommend that you head for L’Aiguillon sur Mer, La Tranche or Jard sur mer, however, most of this vendeen coastline has several miles of long sandy beaches dotted by quaint fishing and holiday villages/towns, where you are sure to find all that you want from the seaside.

The nearest beaches are only a 45 minute drive away. The South Vendee coast has many miles of long sandy beaches dotted with quaint fishing and holiday villages and towns where you are sure to find all you want from the seaside.
Other places of interest:
La Rochelle is only a 35 minute drive away and has a fabulous indoor and outdoor market every morning. This is an exceptionally beautiful city and the main harbour is magnificently guarded by two towers and surrounded by restaurants and cafes and, during the summer months, street stalls and local artists - it must be visited!
Close by is the Venise Vert, a series of tiny canals in beautiful surrounding countryside where it is possible to hire a boat and punt you way down these wonderful waterways. And the stunning forest and lakes of Mervent are only a 15 minute drive away offering a number of water sports and numerous walks. The town of Mervent is probably one of the prettiest in the whole of France!
Sports facilities:
There is a hard, fully fenced tennis court in the village and a 'bowling' alley to play French boules. There are several golf courses less than an hours drive away and fishing, cycling and horse riding are all available nearby.

La Rochelle airport - 45 minutes drive
Nantes or Poitiers airport - around 90 minutes
Ferry port of St Malo - 3.5 hours drive, Caen & Roscoff, around 4.5 hours
