We offer a renovated stone cottage with 3 bedrooms, located on the edge of the picturesque and tranquil village of Chiche. Set at the end of the lane in the grounds of our farmhouse, La Pomerie is full of character and equipped with all modern facilities, in idyllic, peaceful environment, yet close to all the activity you and your family may wish for.
We offer a renovated stone cottage with 3 bedrooms, located on the edge of the picturesque and tranquil village of Chiche. ACCOMMODATION
Our cottage property sleeps up to 7 in spacious comfort, with use of the large walk in HEATED Swimming Pool. The pool is 10m x 5m, with 1.6m depth and roman steps which is great for young children and babies.
This large stone property was renovated recently but retains such traditional features as internal stone walls, wood burner fireplace,(logs available for a small charge) and lots of exposed beams.

Private terrace and garden area with views over open countryside, for relaxation, complete with tables, chairs & BBQ. Access to the large heated swimming pool is via a secure gate. The pool is totally private with for exclusive use of guests and is fully walled to provide both privacy and safety for child protection.

La Pomerie is owned by John (English) who lives in France and will be on hand to meet you upon arrival and answer any questions you have or to provide you with any local information.
We also offer a property in Vendee - close to the beaches - Why not combine 1 week stay at La Pomerie with 1 week at our other property, La Racaudiere, close to the beach. A discount for booking 1 week at each property is available during mid and low season. Details of La Racaudiere

LOCATION
La Pomerie is located in a tranquil, idyllic setting yet within easy reach of the attractions of the Deux-Sevres. Situated in the village of Chiché, between the medieval town of Parthenay and the bocage town of Bressuire. Chiché has 2 informal Restaurants, a small Vival Supermarket, Post Office, Bank, Pharmacy, 2 Boulangeries, 2 Hairdressers, Estate Agent, tennis courts and a large General Store. The nearest town of Bressuire is 10 minutes drive away with numerous restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The medieval town of Parthenay with its many attractions is 20 minutes drive away.
Nearest Restaurant, bar and shops are all located 1 mile away in Chiche.

The area is excellent for walking, cycling, fishing, boating, swimming etc. Only a 1 mile walk to a picnic area by the river with benches and boules pitches.
In just over an hour, you can be on the fantastic, sandy West Coast beaches. The world renowned Puy du Fou leisure park and amazing son et lumiere are close by and highly recommended. As is, Futuroscope at Poitiers.
You may like to visit some of the many rivers and lakes in the area, which boast good fishing, walking and cycling. The Venice Vert, with its miles of interlocking canals and waterways, is a great place to visit for all these activities.
For those with a love of architecture and good shopping (especially French markets!), the chic city of La Rochelle is approx 1 hour 15 minutes away. Closer to home, are Poitiers, Niort and historic Parthenay or Fontenay Le Comte.
