Petits Ajoncs is a traditional farmhouse in the small rural village of St
Martin des Fontaines. The farmhouse has a 9 x 4m below ground swimming pool
(alarmed for security) with covered attractive Summerhouse & BBQ dining
area. The house is surrounded by 2 acres of landscaped gardens, orchard and
wildflower meadow. We have ample parking and private access to accommodation.
The village has a good bar/restaurant. Within 2km there is a supermarket,
boulangerie, bank, post office, tabac, chemist, doctor (English spoken) and
dentist. We are between the historic market towns of Fontenay-le-Comte and
Lucon. Trout and coarse fishing are within a 5 min walk and permits can be
arranged. Table tennis, badminton and boules are available. The open countryside
all around the property is quiet, tranquil and excellent for cycling, walks,
birdwatching, painting, wildlife or just generally relaxing.
Bed and Breakfast Room
Louis XV Room: Spacious ground floor room overlooking pool, with comfortable Louis XVth style double bed and matching furnishings. Tea and coffee making facilities. Local information pack. Separate access to garden and pool. Large en-suite with shower, sink, toilet and bidet. Points for hairdryer and shavers etc. Shaving light. Towels and complimentary soap provided. Access to garden and pool. Bed linen, pool and bathroom towels are provided. Single bed available for third person. Child under 14 years old at a supplement of 15 euros per night.
Accessibility - All accommodation is situated at ground level. There are 4 steps between the guest room and bathroom and kitchen and lounge. Access from the exterior to the bedroom and bathroom is flat. For B&B guests breakfast is served alfresco or in our dining room with home-made preserves. Lunch and dinner on request.
B&B not available June, July or August as the property is let as a 1 bedroom gite only at this time.

Set in 2 acres of lovely landscaped gardens.
The below ground swimming pool (9 x 4m) has surrounding patio and sun loungers.
There is a covered dining area in a picturesque summerhouse and separate BBQ. The summerhouse overlooks the pool and tropical planting around the poolside. Additional seating is also scattered around garden and meadow
Table tennis, Badminton and Boules available.
The accommodation has its own private entrance, ample off road parking and garden surrounding.

Located in the South Vendee, 12 kilometres from the historic renaissance town of Fontenay Le Comte.
The pretty harbour of La Rochelle with its famous aquarium, numerous bars and restaurants and great shopping is approx 50 minutes drive.
Close to the waterways and canals of the Marais Poitevin with boat rides and beautiful abbeys approx 30 minutes drive, great fishing (permits available from the local bar tabac). The forest of Mervent 25 mins, for walking, cycling, canoeing, horse riding, children's adventure parks and zoo.
You can reach the beautiful golden Vendee beaches within an hour. Most beaches are backed by sand dunes and pine forests with large areas for picnics and scenic coastal walks. The Vendee coast stretches for 120km and boasts many blue flag awards. There is also a large man-made beach/activity park within 25 mins drive at nearby Xanton-Chassenon.
