Maison Du Puit is a lovely 3 bedroom cottage located in the
rural village of Le Poire Sur Velluire in the sunny South Vendee. It is a stone
built property and has many original features including beamed ceilings,
stone walls, original fireplace etc.
It has a full sized swimming pool which is fenced off for security and a large garden The swimming pool is planned to be heated for 2012 (heated by heat pump). Maison du Puit stands in approximately 1/2 an acre of gardens.
Approximately 10 minutes drive from the nearest town of Fonteney Le Comte and 20 minutes from Lucon.
It has a full sized swimming pool which is fenced off for security and a large garden The swimming pool is planned to be heated for 2012 (heated by heat pump). Maison du Puit stands in approximately 1/2 an acre of gardens.
Approximately 10 minutes drive from the nearest town of Fonteney Le Comte and 20 minutes from Lucon.

The gite is cottage style accommodation with plenty of original features.

Open plan living area containing kitchen/diner which is fully equipped including cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine etc. Seating area for relaxation - special feature of traditional open fireplace. Television. Electric Heating.
Bedrooms consist of 1 x Double, 1 x Twin room and the 3rd bedroom is a Twin bedroom located on the mezzanine floor, which due to the sloping ceiling, is more suitable for children.
WC and shower room and heated towel rail.
Entertainment - TV, DVD player, CD system, and board games.
Outside
Ample parking at the front of the cottage, private courtyard with table and chairs, BBQ and garden furniture.
The swimming pool is 10 metres by 5 metres and is set in just over 1/2 acre of lovely gardens. The swimming pool area is fenced off for security. It is planned to be heated for 2012. The swimming pool and grounds are shared with the owners, which live on site in a separate farmhouse and L'Ecurie, a separate 1 bedroomed gite.

LOCATION
La Maison du Puit is situated in the peaceful hamlet of L’Anglée, on the outskirts of the village of Le Poiré-sur-Velluire, surrounded by farmland and rivers (the Marais Poitvin) which is just perfect for cycling, fishing and bird watching. (There is a local ‘hide’ for such activities).
Bread is delivered to the door daily by the local baker or if you wish there is a ‘bread depot’ in Le Poiré-sur-Velluire where you will find a pharmacy, a Doctor (English speaking) and a hairdresser who is also English speaking.
In the adjacent village of Velluire you will find a small shop, post office, café/bar. Also the ‘Auberge de la Rivière’, a Michelin ‘3 Forks’ restaurant with its delicious gastronomic menu in picturesque surroundings. Not too expensive and highly recommended by the locals.
The nearest town of Fontenay-le-Comte is only 10 minutes away where you will find a variety of shops, supermarkets and weekly market. The historic town of Lucon is only 20 minutes. La Rochelle with its beautiful harbour and medieval streets is about a 35 minutes drive.
Heading West our nearest beaches are at Aiguillon-sur-Mer and La Faute-sur-Mer (30 minutes) with the lovely beaches of La Tranche-sur- Mer a further 10 minutes beyond. Heading South past La Rochelle is the fantastic beach at Chatelaillon Plage (40 minutes).

Local activities include cycling, fishing, bird watching, boating, canoeing, tree top trapeze and horse riding. (Equestrian Centre 5 minutes away)
Local attractions include Puy du Fou, Futuroscope, Marais Poitvin with its Venise Verte, Mervent Forest and its Zoo. Also the village of Vouvant, the town of La Rochelle and the beautiful Ile-de-Ré to name but a few.
St Malo - 3 hours drive
Caen - 4 hours drive
Calais - 6.5 hours drive
