May Cottage is located close to the historic town of
Fontenay-le-Comte with its lively Saturday market. The 2 bedroomed cottage has
lots of character and is within a short walking distance of the village
supermarket, bank, bakery (with great bread and patisseries), post office and
tabac.
In July and August the village also offers a public open-air swimming pool with slides.

The cottage is comfortably furnished, with a large beamed
sitting/dining room with an original fireplace and a wood burner, and is
furnished with sofa, chairs, dining table, bookcase, TV (British stations), DVD,
games, books etc.
One double bedroom and one Triple bedroom - each of the bedrooms contains a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, rugs and bedside lamps.
Steps lead from the sitting room to the fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room, furnished with table and chairs as well as a 'sheila maid' clothes airer. Kitchen facilities include oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine and dishwasher.
The shower room has a w.c. and basin, with a wet-room style shower.
The cottage is on mains drainage and central heating is by mains gas.
All accommodation is on Ground level.
OUTSIDE
The property is South Facing which means that the house, garden and terrace benefit from all day sunshine; and the garden is completely unoverlooked. Patio furniture, sunloungers and of course, a Barbeque!

Although there is no swimming pool at the property, there is a large village pool with slides which is open to the public in July and August for a nominal fee.

May Cottage is located close to the historic town of Fontenay-le-Comte with its lively Saturday market. The cottage is within a short walking distance of the village supermarket, bank, bakery, post office and tabac. In July and August the village also offers a public open-air swimming pool. Futurescope is within easy driving distance, as is the acclaimed theme park Puy du Fou. The Mervent Forest is just twenty minutes away, with a children's zoo and the Pierre-Brune fun park, as well as opportunities for swimming, sailing, canoeing and fishing in addition to riding, rock climbing, walking and cycling. The lovely town of La Rochelle and the beautiful Ile de Re are just forty five minutes drive away, as are the safe, sandy and crowd-free Vendée beaches. The Green Venice (the Marais Poitevin) is close by, an area of islets criss-crossed by canals, nowadays used for boating in traditional punts, which can be hired in a number of villages.
