The Pumphouse
is a characterful holiday home which sleeps five people. It has been fully
renovated from a small barn with exposed stone walls and ceiling beams. The
Pumphouse has a garden on the courtyard with small lawn and seating area
complete with BBQ and patio furniture.
La Forge actually consists of 3 seperate
buildings, the
farmhouse (5 bedrooms), the Lodgehouse (1 bedroom),
and the pumphouse (2 bedrooms plus mezzanine) .

ACCOMMODATION
Entrance is via double French doors into a large open plan living
room / Kitchen complete with woodburning stove, comfortable seating, flat screen
TV and DVD player. There is a dining table and chairs and a fully equipped
kitchen. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, kettle,
toaster and coffee maker.
There is a hallway leading to the bathroom and
bedrooms. The first bedroom has exposed stone walls and beamed ceiling and
sleeps two people with a King size bed. The second bedroom which is ideally
suited for 3 children, also has an exposed stone wall and beamed ceiling
furnished with a set of bunk beds, a small fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers.
There is a mezzanine area above and to one side with a single bed. Please be
aware that the mezzanine area has low head room and is accessed via a steep
narrow staircase.
There is a bathroom also off the hallway which has a small
bath with shower, a toilet and hand basin and heated towel rail.
The front
of all three properties open onto the enclosed courtyard. The children's play
area is situated here at the side of the courtyard. The play area is equipped
with a playframe comprising climbing platform, slide and swing. There is an
additional swing situated in the tree. Swimming pool which is fenced off
for security.
The Pumphouse is heated via a wood burning stove and electric
heaters in the bedrooms making it suitable for all year use. The Pumphouse is
suitable for short breaks and available for longer term lets during spring,
autumn and winter.

Prices
Our properties are available all year round. All properties
are cleaned before arrival and bedding and bed linen is supplied. We request
that properties are left in the same condition as found. Prices below are given
per property per week Sunday to Sunday.

Security deposit of £200 which will be fully refundable if no damage
to property and left in a clean and tidy condition.
Booking deposit of 20% is
required to secure the booking.
Short breaks are considered in the low and
mid season with prices from £150 for the Pumphouse . Please contact us to
discuss your requirements.
Long term rentals are also considered low and mid
season with monthly rental from £550 for the
Pumphouse.

LOCATION
Situated at the edge of the village of Oulmes our properties are
quiet but within easy walking distance of local amenities. Shops include a
baker, small shop, post office, hairdresser, garage, bar/tabac and restaurant
with bar also providing a take away pizzeria. The historic town of
Fontenay-le-Comte, the large city of Niort and the picturesque village of Coulon
on the Marais are all within 20 minutes drive, all have tourist information
offices and offer shopping facilities, numerous restaurants and leisure
pursuits. Nearest supermarket is 10 minutes away.
Located in the 2nd sunniest
region in France we are 5 minutes from the canals of the Marais Poitevin (Green
Venice).
The forest at Mervent and lakeside beaches are within 15 minutes.
We are 1 hour from the lovely Vendee coast, known for its wonderful
coastline and year round warm climate, vast sandy beaches, sea fishing, mussel
and oyster farming. Beaches close by
include L'Aiguillon sur Mer, Faute sur Mer, La Tranche sur Mer and Les Sables
d'Olonne famous for its boat races such as the Vendee Globe, fantastic beach and
Zoo. The beautiful historic harbour of La Rochelle with its two towers and the
Aquarium, La Rochelle also provides the opportunity to take a boat trip to visit
the adjacent islands. Visit the island of Ile de Re accessible by car for
fantastic beaches with calm shallow waters, the island also host numerous oyster
bed farms which sell direct to the public.
We are ideally located minutes away from the A83
motorway, being 3 hours from St Malo and 4 hours from Caen ferry ports. Contact us for discounted ferry

We are also a 1 hour drive from La Rochelle, Nantes and Poitiers
airports which offer low cost airlines.
