This light, modern house, completed in 2008 is equipped to a high
standard throughout. The open hallway leads to the charming open plan
living area with French windows to three sides. The lounge area includes
ample comfy seating and the main focal point, a fabulous log fire with fire
guard. One of the two sofas converts to a large double bed if needed.
Satellite TV is provided along with a DVD. The dining area houses a large
dining table to seat 8 with French windows opening onto the patio and pool
beyond.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with an American style refrigerator, induction hob and electric oven. There is a microwave and dishwasher, and a breakfast bar with open hatch through to the dining area. French doors open onto a covered barbeque area and to the patio and pool beyond. There is a toilet in the hallway. In the basement there is another refrigerator and washing machine in the utility area, and a separate garage for one vehicle.
The three double bedrooms to the first floor, reached via a short flight of stairs, all have full height fitted wardrobes with one mirrored door, and rails and shelving inside.The first bedroom has a double bed. The two rear bedrooms have 2 single beds and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and all are equipped with beside tables and lamps. The first floor bathroom includes a basin, toilet, bath with shower over and separate shower cubicle.
On the top floor, again reached by a short flight of stairs, is the master bedroom into the eaves space with bedside tables and lamps. The bed can be made up as a king sized bed or 2 single.s The ensuite has a toilet, basin and walk-in shower.
There is a high chair and travel cot and stairguard if required.
Outside there is ample off-road parking for 4 or 5 cars. The front garden is mainly laid to grass and there is a pleasant seating area at the side of the house to catch the last rays of the sun and perhaps enjoy a game of boules on the boules court.
At the rear of the house is a superb heated swimming pool (10 x 5) set in a large patio with wooden table and 8 chairs for eating al fresco. The surrounding garden has been thoughtfully landscaped and includes many scented lavender bushes. There are sun loungers and a charcoal barbeque. The views from the patio are spectacular, day or night.
The pool has an alarm but children must be supervised at all times when in the garden.
There are tiled floors throughout with underfloor heating for early or later season bookings.

The boulangerie is one of the best in the Vendee - a must for breakfast supplies! Larger supermarkets are situated 10 minutes drive away at La Chatainarie, and most nearby towns have weekly markets selling fresh local produce. There is a wonderful seafood market at Fontenay le Comte.
Under an hour’s drive to the wonderful Vendee beaches and close by to Mervent for canoeing, walking, cycling, fishing and adventure sports, Puy de Fou (France's premier historical theme park) and the tranquil canals of Marais Poitevin (Venise Verte).
