Lovingly renovated property situated in the quiet village of St
Martin Lars near to the small town of Ste Hermine in the Southern Vendee.
Ideal for a Romantic Getaway or Special Occasion.
The property has been renovated to a very good standard throughout and maintains much of its character including beamed ceilings, wooden floors, thick stone walls.
Perfect location for exploring the region and ideal for long stay lets.

The ground floor is tiled throughout with rustic terracotta tiles and
comprises entrance hall with downstairs cloakroom, large living room (5m x 5m)
with large multi-fuel burner, comfortable sofas (one of which can be converted
to a Sofa Bed), TV and DVD player. We have a well appointed kitchen which
is fully equipped with a full size American Fridge/Freezer, Oven, hob, microwave
etc also with a small multi-fuel burner and ash staircase to the first
floor. Doorway leads from the kitchen to the rear patio area.
The first floor has ash floorboards throughout, a large hallway with three separate rooms, including two large bedrooms with exposed oak beams and a spacious beautifully appointed family bathroom with shower and free-standing bath.
A number of the original stone walls have been skilfully exposed, whilst there is oil-fired central heating throughout the house. Outside the property is a gravelled-courtyard for secure parking and a number of outbuildings, one of which contains a washing machine and the central heating boiler which also heats the water. A wood store provides plenty of fuel for the multi-fuel burners.
Outside is a lovely courtyard area with dining table and seating, a couple of chairs and a bar-b-q.

Location/Things to do
In the village of St Martins Lars, located opposite the boulangerie.
St Hermine is nearby (5 - 10 minutes drive) and has a market, super markets, shops and bars and a municipal Swimming Pool. Chantonnay is 10 - 15 minutes drive and has a large hyperU supermarket.
The Mervent forest also has swimming lakes and we are not far from Venice Verte.
There is easy access to a number of local attractions, such as the smart and lively town of Fontenay-le Comte (30 mins) with its oh so French Saturday morning market. Near here is the Mervent forest and the beautiful medieval village of Vouvant. The famous Puy de Fou can be also reached in 30 minutes (see website for details of this spectacular attraction), whilst La Rochelle is less than an hour away. To the north of La Rochelle you can find numerous beaches which are also less than an hour away.
