South of Nantes and East of La Rochelle, this property is located just outside the town of St Hilaire Des Loges.
St Hilaire des Loges offers boulangeries, supermarkets, banks, cafes etc. The Market towns of Fontenay-Le-Comte and Coulonges Sur L'Autize are within easy reach (10-20 minutes drive) with a choice of supermarkets, pattieries, banks, cafes/restaurants etc
Many beautiful beaches of La Vendee and Charentes Maritime are less than an hour away, as is the charming seaside town and harbour of La Rochelle, and Island of Ile De Re.
Within a five minutes drive is Xanton-Chassenon, a sandy beach with supervised bathing, waterslides and a childrens play area, picnic area, pedaloes and canoes, alongside the freshwater lake. Puy Du Fou and Futuroscope are approx 1 hours drive. For a change of pace the Marais Poitevin, with its Venise Vert Waterway, the Mervent Forest, pretty water ride town on Coulon and Vouvant are nearby.

Futuroscope - A science based theme park; fun for all ages.
La Rochelle - A beautiful medieval port and City walls; great fish restaurants, good shopping, museums, the biggest aquarium in Europe, cinemas (English speaking), water sports.
Puy du Fou. - A wonderful theme park.
Ile De Re - With mile after mile of broad, clean sandy beaches and an interior of pine forests and vineyards criss crossed by 50 miles of cycle paths.
Linked by a road bridge to the Mainland in 1988 it has become a fashionable holiday destination. Best way to explore the island is on 2 wheels. Cyclists of all ages and abilities abound, pedalling from one idyllic beach to the next or from one sleepy, picturesque village to another, along pine shaded paths, through fields of vines, poppies and sunflowers.
Vouvant - Found 9km east of the farmhouse, on a small hill in a pretty setting, overlooking a river. In part, still surrounded by ramparts. Within village are narrow streets, lined with well preserved medieval houses.
Coulon - A pretty Waterside town, dating back some 1200 years which lies on the banks of the Sevre, at the centre of the Marais-Poitevin region. A popular starting point for those hiring boats who wish to venture into the Maraise-Poitevin, maybe just to mooch or while away the sunny days in one of the traditional waterside restaurants and cafes.

There are many unexplored areas that we still have to uncover, this makes a spontaneous cycle ride or drive in the car a journey of discovery

You can reach the beautiful golden Vendee beaches in about an hour. Most beaches are backed by sand dunes and pine forests with large areas for picnics and scenic coastal walks. The Vendee coast stretches for 120km and boasts many blue flag awards. Plus only 5 minutes drive to the manmade beach of Xanton-Chassenon, a sandy beach with supervised bathing, waterslides and a childrens play area, picnic area, pedaloes and canoes, alongside the freshwater lake.

For wine lovers, the nearby cave at Pissotte produces and sells direct to the public well-known local red and white wines.
Every 2 years (June 2010), Fontenay-le-Comte holds a magnificent carnival with floats and dancers from around the world. The whole event is finished with a magnificent firework display on the third night.

Use of a car is essential.
The nearest airport is Nantes, served by Easyjet, and La Rochelle, served by Ryan Air (seasonal) - about 1 hours drive
Well located for all the major ferry ports St Malo - 3.5 hours drive, Caen 4.5hours drive, Calais 7 hours drive
